Summer 2005 Fashion Trends
By Kenia Morales
If you are like me and many women, the warm
weather motivates you to do or try new things.
It may even inspire you to get creative with
your wardrobe. Before hitting the shopping malls,
check out this list to find out what's hot for
summer 2005.
-
Cropped pants
- If you see pants that are too long to
classify as shorts and too short to qualify
as regular length pants, those are referred
as capris or cropped pants. They fit anywhere
from just below the knee to inches above
the ankle.
-
Natural
hair - Good news for ladies with curly
or wavy hair. Curls are in; all you have
to do is wash your hair, apply some gel
or mousse, and blow dry with a diffuser.
For defined curls utilize hair rollers.
-
Color
crazy
- Bright colors are big this summer. Some
of the most popular are kiwi, turquoise,
coral, fuchsia, mango, yellow, aqua, melon,
violet and others. All shades of pink are
also hot this summer. And white remains
a staple for your summer wardrobe.
-
Knee
length skirts
- These are available in many different
styles from pleated to form fitting.
-
Cuffed
pants -
Many of the cuffed pants are also cropped.
-
Tunics
- They not only give you a different look;
they are also cool and comfortable.
-
Prints,
embroidery, patterns, and stripes,
are all fashionable this summer. Be brave
and buy a blouse with bold patterns or floral
prints.
-
Fabrics
- Silk is big this year. Cottons of course
are always popular for summer. Do not be
surprised to see clothing enhanced with
lots of lace, jewels, beads, and rhinestones.
-
Accessorize
- You will find anything from drop earrings
to beaded and wooded jewelry. Other popular
accessories are brooches, creative belt
buckles, pendants, neck silk scarfs, and
much more. Just be careful you do not over-accessorize.
-
Shoes
- Comfort and color are chic for 2005. I
have never seen such a variety of thong
sandals. Mules, flip flops, flats,
and moccasins are also popular. Wedges are
great for the ladies that like to wear higher
shoes.
