De-cluttering
Your Heart

Have
you noticed that the older you get, the more
cluttered your house becomes? Stuff accumulates
through the years, gets packed away in boxes
and takes up more and more space.
Our
inner lives can become just as cluttered. As
the years go by, frustrations, annoyances, anger,
apathy, and compromise pile up inside of us,
cluttering our souls. Sadly, just like the boxes
packed away in our basements, our tendency is
to tolerate it. No one wants to drag all that
stuff out of the boxes. It's better left alone
so we won't have to deal with it.
Many
people allow inner clutter to mask their true
identity, consequently never experiencing joy
or contentment. But I can say from experience
- this is not only self-defeating, it is definitely
not God's will. God's plan is for us to experience
joy and fulfillment. The Bible tells us that
God's thoughts towards us are loving and good,
and that He gives us hope for the future. Jesus
said that one of the reasons He came was so
that we could live life more abundantly.
God
wants us to enjoy life. But to do so, we must
be wiling to get rid of the clutter. Hindrances
such as annoyances, bitterness and anger will
prevent you from moving forward in life. Only
you can make the choice to let it go.
Begin
to envision your future optimistically as you
free yourself of all the "stuff" that
weighs you down. Sound overwhelming? It doesn't
have to be when you realize you don't have to
do this alone.
God
will guide you on the path towards joy and fulfillment,
if you will ask Him. No matter how complicated
your life has become, no matter how much clutter
has accumulated over the years, He will empower
you to let it all go. He will show you the path
to simplicity, joy and true fulfillment. It's
all there for the asking.
